Lose the training wheels and learn to ride on two wheels! The Wilmington Police Department’s “Learn to Ride” program is a free monthly event that teaches children how to safely ride a bicycle. The program is held at the Police Athletic League of Wilmington’s gymnasium at 3707 North Market Street. Ages 4 and up.
During the program, police officers help children learn to ride, and bikes are available for use. Riders can also bring their own bikes, and helmets are provided for those who don’t have one.
Space is limited, and registration is required. You can register your child for a lesson by visiting WilmingtonDE.gov/LearnToRide. After registering, someone from the program will contact you to confirm an open date.
