Description
Bent, But Not Broken — the first of its kind — is a four-day music conference amplifying the musical contributions and accomplishments of Black artists across time and genres, featuring the American Spirtual Ensemble, led by conductor Everett McCorvey; EXIGENCE, led by conductor Eugene Rogers; Westminster Choir College Jubilee Singers, led by conduct Vinroy J. Brown, Jr.; Resistance Revival Chorus; and the Choir School of Delaware, led by Arreon A. Harley-Emerson.
The conference will include a variety of interest sessions led by distinguished guest lecturers, an Honor Choir of choristers age 12+ from youth community choirs, conducted by Alysia Lee and Maria Ellis, and Dr. Marques Garrett will delve into the works of renowned composer Nathaniel Dett—illustrating Dett’s work through performances by the Choir School of Delaware’s Choral Scholars.
