Description
Everywhere you look, our dynamic Earth is full of diverse life. At the Delaware Museum of Nature and Science, discover how nature connects us all in surprising ways and explore how we all have a role to play in caring for our environment and the planet.
Formerly the Delaware Museum of Natural History, the museum re-opened in May 2022 after an extensive renovation and redesign. Exhibits include the PaleoZone, with dinosaurs and other Cretaceous creatures, the Global Journey Gallery with ecosystems from around the world, and Delaware ecosystems in the Regional Journey Gallery. The museum features a variety of interactive areas, including the Discovery Gallery, the Nature Nook for young children, and traveling exhibits.
The interactive Nature Nook features activities geared to meet the needs of the museum’s youngest guests. Educational programs include summer camp, school tours, scout activities, and other programs.
Museum researchers maintain our expansive collections of mollusks and birds, including the second-largest collection of birds’ eggs in North America. Scientists from around the world visit the museum to study specimens and request loans to assist them further in their research.
As a non-profit institution, DelMNS relies on the generosity of members, donors, and corporate sponsors to sustain high-quality exhibits and educational programs for the community. For updated information about programs and special events, visit delmns.org.
