Description
The DCH is a non-profit community resource dedicated to promoting knowledge and appreciation of gardening, horticulture, and conservation. Our headquarters in Trolley Square is an oasis in the city. The beautiful facility includes a public demonstration garden that backs up to Brandywine Park, an art gallery, a large meeting room, and a greenhouse. We host many weddings and corporate events every year. We plant thousands of trees and lead regional projects to enhance Delaware’s urban forests; support community gardens and school gardens; organize city park improvement projects; beautify Delaware’s roadsides with native vegetation; maintain the landscaping of many traffic medians and streetscapes; and provide educational programs for children, teens, and adults. Our members come from Delaware and the surrounding region. We have more than 700 active and dedicated volunteers.
