Women in Music is a monthly night dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the voices of women in music. This month’s pay-as-you can event includes live performances by Riley Lauren, Kay Renee, Melissa in the City, and Fawziyya Heart—each bringing unique stories and styles that span genres from indie folk to soul. The repertoire will include both original music and covers, showcasing the depth, diversity, and richness of female musicianship while fostering a more inclusive creative community.
This month’s featured artist, Fawziyya Heart, was chosen because of her innovative music business, soulful and inspiring vocals, and uplifting musical message.
“Breaking into the music scene is hard for anyone—but as women, we need spaces where we can lift each other up and gain the confidence and inspiration to keep pushing. It can be an uphill battle when trying to ‘make it’ in a traditionally male-dominated industry,” said Jenni Schick, founder of the Women’s Musician Coalition.
In addition to performances, the event will include time for networking and community-building. Performers will have the opportunity to accept tips for their sets, setting the stage for artists to be both celebrated and compensated.
