Description
Join Delaware Poets for an evening celebrating more than 250 years of Delaware poetry through readings, discussion, and an open mic.
Voices of Wilmington: A Community Reading Series is a citywide poetry and open mic series presented by Delaware Poets Inc. in partnership with Wilmington-area libraries as part of Wilmington Presents: DE250.
Each event will feature selections from The Delaware Poets Almanac, a semiquincentennial time capsule chapbook celebrating Delaware poets and the state’s rich literary history. A rotating panel of Delaware poets will guide each gathering with readings and conversation, followed by a moderated open mic where attendees are invited to share poems, reflections, and creative responses inspired by Delaware’s people, places, history, and lived experience.
Through poetry, storytelling, and community participation, Voices of Wilmington creates a welcoming space for listening, expression, and connection while helping preserve a lasting literary record of Wilmington’s voices during Delaware’s 250th commemoration.
