Description
OPENING EVENT: Friday, May 7, 2021 | 5 – 8 PM during first Friday
The Delaware Contemporary is pleased to present Elsewhere, an exhibition of the 2020-21 University of Delaware Master of Fine Arts candidates. Showcasing the work of Carlisle Bell, Alfredo Carlson, SRD, Michael Dela Dika, Brandan Henry, Gene Anthony Santiago-Holt, Connor Longo, and Hamilton Pedrick, this exhibition represents the capstone to their two years of studies.
Acknowledging pauses, disruptions, removals, and relocations: ELSEWHERE is a showcase of works by eight artists – a collective exhibition that considers, reflects, and celebrates two years of graduate studio investigations.
About University of Delaware MFA Program:
The MFA program at the University of Delaware maintains a thoughtful, ambitious level of discussion about what constitutes powerful artistic practice. The MFA curriculum consists of three distinct yet interrelated parts of graduate experience and education: research, practice, and discourse. Students are expected to maintain a dedicated studio practice that challenges and extends their investigations and to participate actively in critique that encourages the open exchange of ideas in a collaborative environment. The program provides for extensive individual studio time, supported by one-on-one discussions with faculty and visiting artists.
