Confined to his apartment with a broken leg, photographer L.B. “Jeff” Jeffries has little to do except watch the people living across the courtyard. Then he begins to suspect that one of his neighbors has committed murder.
Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window turns the simple act of looking out a window into a wonderfully tense mystery, with James Stewart and Grace Kelly at the center of it. It’s suspenseful, clever, and still remarkably entertaining more than 70 years later.
We’re presenting Rear Window on 16mm, with the projector and film print provided by Sidetrackd16. There’s something special about watching a movie actually run through a film projector, and it makes this screening feel like a genuine little piece of movie history.
