If some long lost beacon transmitted a signal from the deepest nether regions of your heart, it might sound something like the music of Peter McPoland. Blips of emotion pierce a haze of digitally conjured beat-craft and guitar dissonance beneath starkly honest vocals that are unafraid to bleed out loud. His alchemy of grainy electronic production, organic instrumentation, and icy melodies alternately captivates and provokes. Much like life itself, his art can be beautiful or uncomfortable all in the same breath. Moving to NYC post-high school, he gained traction with “Lady Bird” and “I Love You Too.” Then, “Romeo & Juliet” overtook TikTok and eventually gathered millions of streams as he signed to Columbia Records.
