Description
Usher in the Holiday Season with our annual family-friendly sing-along with the Diamond State Concert Band.
The Diamond State Concert Band is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing free community concerts and an opportunity for musicians to practice their skills.
In existence for close to 48 years, they have performed more than 400 concerts to a total audience in excess of 750,000 in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Diamond State Concert Band, directed by Fred Litcofsky, was founded in 1976 by Alfred J. Belak as the Mt. Pleasant Community Band. The first rehearsals were at Mt. Pleasant High School and, with 35 members, they performed their first concert on July 4, 1976 in Claymont, Delaware. In 1984, the band changed its name to Diamond State Concert Band to better reflect the regional nature of its membership and audience.
Bring your family and friends to experience the warmth of the season as you listen and sing along to familiar seasonal tunes. Free admission – following the concert, there will be a reception with holiday goodies for all! Child care will be provided.
