This award-winning documentary film shares the story of David โSabaโ Wisnia – Cantor, Holocaust Survivor, and Military Veteran.
The film documents the time Saba spends in his later years traveling with his grandson and musical accompanist, Avi Wisnia, while sharing the story of how he survived the Holocaust through music, which the duo perform together.
Meet other guests beforehand at a casual happy hour get-together starting at 6pm at The Chancery (upstairs). Afterwards, there will be a short Q&A with Avi Wisnia, who produced the film and was recently named Musician of the Year by Bucks County Happening Magazine and Best Keyboardist by Delaware Valley Public Media at the 2022 Hometown Heroes Music Awards.
This film is hosted by the Wilmington Democrats, sponsored by Senator Dan Cruce, and benefits the Christian Salcedo Music Scholarship, which helps provide musical instruments and training to area students in primarily underserved communities in the Wilmington area.
