Walter Beasley, born on May 24th, 1961, is recognized as one of the highest-selling and most influential recording artists in modern music history. An award-winning alto and soprano saxophonist, singer, composer, and producer, he is also the founder and CEO of Affable Publishing and Affable Records. With a career spanning over three decades, Walter dedicated 35 years to teaching at Berklee College of Music and shares his expertise through online classes and social media lessons. From a young age, he showed a passion for music, performing with the band Los Elegantes at just 13 years old, and since 1987, he has released 26 albums. He remains one of the top 10 best-selling African American saxophonists worldwide since 1998 and has received numerous accolades, including Billboardโs Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year in 2019 and the Soul Tracksโ Instrumentalist of the Year award in 2023. Beyond performing, Walter has authored four books and produced educational DVDs, emphasizing his commitment to both music and education.
Maya Belardo, known as โThe Princess of Jazzโ in her hometown of Wilmington, DE is passionate about jazz and being a positive example of young womanhood to all princesses. She fell in love with jazz around the age of 12 when she heard a recording of Nat King Cole singing, โNature Boy.โ Sheโs been inspired by many jazz legends who have paved the way for her to sing this music today. In her debut single โFreeโ, she sings, โI can hear them all cheer for me, Iโm so Free.โ She is referencing all the legendary jazz greats and her own ancestors who loved this art form. Maya has sung at amazing jazz venues on the East coast and performed at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in her hometown at the age of 17.
