Written by AZ Espinoza (Director of Del Shakes’ Summer Fest Macbeth 2023), Caribbean King takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s King Lear to create a modern twist. Cord returns to the Caribbean island of his birth as it transitions out of the Commonwealth and into political independence. Standing in his way are his father who is the island’s last colonially appointed governor general, and a catastrophic hurricane barreling towards the island.
