Description
From cell phones and shoes to alternative forms of energy, explore methods used by scientists, designers, and engineers to understand how materials in everyday items transfer heat, change with heat, and perform under heat. Hosted by the Delaware Teen Science Cafรฉ, this event will be nothing short of sizzling.
Kadine Mohomed, Ph.D., a materials scientist at WL Gore, will take you on an interactive evening of demonstrations, engaging conversations, and activities exploring thermal analysis โ how materials respond to a change in temperature, stress, and atmosphere. Discover how this are of science affects many of the products we use every day.
Kadineโs career passion is chemistry, and she places a strong emphasis on curiosity and fun.
She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology and earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Material Science from the University of South Florida.
The evening includes free pizza, a chance to meet other teens, and a place to get curious about real world science from real world science professionals.
Admission is free. Pre-registration is required. Delaware Teen Science Cafรฉ events are designed for teens, by teens. Parents/adults are not eligible to attend. Thank you for understanding and respecting the unique space for teens that our program creates.
Most of this event will be held outdoors, please dress accordingly. Masks required for all indoor activities, all participants are required to bring a mask.
