Description

Join us as Jim Tevebaugh of the Friends of the Furness Railroad District delves into the history of the Washington Memorial Bridge. The bridge, an architectural monument spanning the Brandywine River, is a memorial to the patriots of the six wars. When built, the bridge was celebrated as the finest example of monument combined with utility design in the country. The Friends has rediscovered this National Treasure and are in the process of creating the Delaware Monument Trail. Light refreshments will be served. FREE.
