Learn how to carve soapstone both with modern tools and tools that Native Americans would have used. A number of items can be made from the soap-stone cobbles that came from local streams near Native American quarries. These items can range from amulets to masks to soapstone lamps and the students can choose what they want to make. This is a good introduction to carving soapstone. Guest Instructor: Dan Coates.
Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline: Friday, November 4. This workshop is designed for adults.
