Description
How can a space be nourishing? West Chester University students were prompted to investigate the idea of nourishment with questions such as; what fuels a healthy body, mind, and spirit? How and where do we find this for ourselves? Can we offer this to others?
The students worked together to construct three geodesic, dome-like structures. Each dome was designed and decorated as answers to these overarching questions. In conjunction with the geodome designs, the students worked with Delaware Urban Greens to provide plant materials.
West Chester University Students: Emma Britt, Ava Brooks, Eden Brown, Daniel Dwyer, Laura Gaenzle, Anna Jakubowski, Owen Loustau, Mia Markford, Delaia Roberson, Mya Saltysiak, Caroline Sawyer, Sahara Widmayer, Zifeng Zang, Hannah Zartman.
Faculty Advisor: Erica Loustau, Associate Professor of Art in Sculpture.
Delaware Urban Greens is a community garden whose mission is to improve local food insecurities by providing nutritional awareness, accessibility to fresh and organic produce, and gardening access; all while providing a non-threatening atmosphere where individuals of all ages and backgrounds may interact in a healthy pursuit.
