Description
The DelArt Film Society hosts screenings every Saturday, with free screenings for members on the last Saturday of each month. Family-friendly screenings will take place on the second Sunday of each month. Refreshments will be available downstairs near DelArt’s 160-seat auditorium, including snacks from Kaffeina Cafe and a bar offering beer and wine. Please do not bring outside food or beverages. Water bottles may be brought in and filled at the station near the auditorium.
Throne of Blood
Two samurai warriors are intercepted by a spirit who predicts their futures. The first part soon turns true as the one warrior’s wife pushes him to fulfill the rest of the propecy that would see him as the lord of Spider’s Web Castle.
Masterfully directed by Akira Kurosawa, Throne of Blood’s viceral adaptation of Macbeth trades Medival Scotland for Feudal Japan and delivers one of the finest adaptations of Shakespeare’s works on film.
