Relive classic R&B hits of the seventies when three amazing groups perform. THE SPINNERS, recently nominated to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, dominated the Billboard charts throughout the 1970s with 11 top 20 pop singles, including seven top 5, and 14 top five R&B hits, including six reaching #1. The Spinners stage show is dynamic, even when they are singing their ballads: “I’ll Be Around,” “Could it Be I’m Falling in Love,” “One of a Kind (Love Affair),” and “Then Came You. ”Four incredible vocalists sing lead and amazing harmonies, and they will have you on your feet with such high-energy songs as “We’re Havin a Party,” “Rubberband Man,” “Cupid” and “Workin My Way Back to You.”
SONNY BIVINS MANHATTANS deliver romantic lyrics and astounding vocal harmonies. “Kiss and Say Goodbye” was #1 on both the pop and R&B charts, and, in 1980, “Shining Star” won a Grammy and was top five on both the R&B and pop charts. “One Life to Live” and “There’s No Me Without You” both hit #3 on the R&B charts. The Manhattans had an amazing 45 hits on Billboard’s R&B charts, including 12 top 10 smashes.
Opening the show are The Intruders. Working with legendary producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, the Intruders were pioneers in creating “The Sound of Philadelphia.” “Cowboys to Girls,” their signature hit, was #1 R&B and #6 pop. Other hits include “(Love is Lake a) Baseball Game,” “I’ll Always Love my Mamma” and “Together.”
