Join the 12th Annual Black History Month Kick-Off Event, hosted by New Castle County, the Walnut Street YMCA, and the Black Achievers of Delaware. This year’s theme, 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, honors Black trailblazers from Delaware and beyond and celebrates their lasting impact.

The open-house-style event will feature formal presentations, live performances, a community market, honoree tables, and hands-on activities for children. This all-ages celebration takes place at the historic Walnut Street YMCA. As an added bonus, Girl Scouts can earn a Black History Month fun patch, while supplies last, for their attendance.

This event is free and open to the public.

Join crochet teacher, Lauren, to learn a new skill in a welcoming and laid-back environment. Learn the basics of crochet while sipping on mead, cider, and specialty cocktails!
