Local Filmmaker Brings Box-Office Magic to Theatre N

On February 25, the theatrical premiere of local indie film Boxanne attracted more than 150 people to Theatre N, creating one of the theater’s most successful nights in recent years.

Naturally, they are hoping to recreate the magic with re-showings of Boxanne the first weekend in April (April 1-2). Both nights are double features, with the addition of Psycho Ape, directed by Addison Binek of Tromasterpiece Theatre fame.

Clocking in at about 40 minutes, Boxanne focuses on a couples-boutique manager who falls in love with sex doll he believes has come to life.

Boxanne creator Brian Wild managed to find creative ways to film the movie during the pandemic.

“I felt blessed and humbled,” Wild says of the premiere’s success. “It took tons of work and effort by me, my family and friends to get the film to the goal line. I couldn’t have done it without them.”
