INdulge in the Taste of Trolley

Taste of Trolley

Looking for some new dining options to get you out of your rut? Come to the Taste of Trolley Square, a yearly showcase of one of Wilmington’s most eclectic neighborhoods. Stroll the sidewalks and sample small plates from over a dozen of the area’s hottest eateries.  Try an open-faced crab BLT from Catherine Rooney’s or score a personal pumpkin pie from De La Coeur Café. Thirsty? Sip some Kombucha: $2 drafts available from Delaware Local Food Exchange.

The event is more than just an indulgence for the taste buds. According to Jerry DuPhily, one of the organizers, “Taste of Trolley is a cooperative effort between Trolley businesses big and small. It’s a celebration of all things Trolley, from restaurants to retailers, from non-profit organizations to neighbors. There’s a lot of community pride in Trolley Square, and this event reflects that spirit.”

Families can enjoy free street entertainment including a DJ, kids’ games, and a coolest pet contest.  Or win prizes in the scavenger hunt at merchants throughout Trolley Square.  Be on the lookout for special demonstrations and sidewalk sales. For those 21 years and older (photo ID required), take part in the craft beer, wine & spirits tastings. See how beers from local breweries like Stitch House and Midnight Oil stack up against beers from neighboring states and as far away as California. Wine lovers will enjoy tastings from Moore Brother’s Wine Company and Ward’s Fine Wines. Or discover a favorite new cocktail.Trolley bartenders will be concocting drinks with signature spirits.

A dunk tank. Street entertainers. A pop-up, group painting experience. Taste of Trolley has a surprise around every corner. Free admission to this all-ages event allows you to explore as you please.  The festival takes place on Saturday, September 29 from 1-5 PM in Trolley Square.
