35 years IN and still going strong, Delaware Theatre Company’s 2013-2014 season reminds us why they remain the area’s premier professional theatre. Coming off of a record-breaking year in the box office, DTC delivers a lineup with something for absolutely everyone. And with the affordable Flex Pass option, you can pick and choose your favorites with a locked IN price of only $35 per ticket!

Comedy fans have their choice between the dark and offensive Any Given Monday by Bruce Graham which tells a tale of a man whose life is turned upside down and the friend who decides to take matters into his own hands to fix it, or the delightful farce full of mixed signals and mistaken identities that is Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me a Tenor, chronicling the disappearance of an Italian opera singer in Cleveland. Tender souls will enjoy the heartwarming musical by Neil Bartram, The Story of My Life, about two friends who simply couldn’t imagine a life without each other – until one of them decides to separate the inseparable. Drama-addicts will be stunned by The Exonerated, an eye-opening play by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen that follows the shocking stories of six wrongly accused inmates. Finally, those simply IN the mood to groove won’t want to miss Thomas “Fats” Waller’s zany, sexy and certainly jazzy tribute to the Harlem Renaissance, Ain’t Misbehavin’.

But that’s just the MainStageโ€ฆ

The season also INcludes four special events that are going to keep you coming back for more in between the shows. Robert Dubac’s The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?’s title alone leads me to believe we can get more than a few laughs out of this hilarious one man show that dares to ask “what exactly do women want?”. Why I’m Scared of Dance by Jen Childs is a moving yet funny piece about creating your own dance routine with whatever life throws at you. Burt & Me features 20 of Burt Bacharach & Hal David’s most popular tunes set to tell a tale of two high school sweethearts who reconnected years down the line and attempt to rekindle their romance. And finally, you’re guaranteed some clean and clever fun with The Ivy League of Stand-Up Comedy – professional comedians who went to Ivy League schools but ultimately decided to leave Wall Street behind for a few good laughs.

What about the kids, you ask? Well, in addition to DTC’s long-standing community-focused and family-friendly programs like Totally Awesome Players, the Delaware Young Playwright’s Festival and Acting Classes, DTC has a special show in store over the holidays. Three actors, two books and one piano come together to tell the tales of Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham and The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant.

More details on all of the great offerings IN store this year from Delaware Theatre Company can be found in the event listings below, or by visiting delawaretheatre.org. Now get out and enjoy some INcredible theater #inWilm!
